Job Summary

  • The Retail Expansion Specialist plays a crucial role in the successful execution of U Mobile's retail expansion initiatives. This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of store openings, refurbishments, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring timely and cost-effective project completion.

The Day-To-Day Activities
  • New Store Openings
    • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of new store openings, including site selection, construction, and vendor management.
    • Develop and manage project timelines and budgets.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and permits.
    • Conduct site inspections and quality checks.
    • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., Marketing, IT, Operations) to ensure smooth store launch.
  • Store Development Budget and costing
    • Manage and oversee store new projects expenses and Capex.
    • P&L management on new openings and relevant expenses of every quarterly
  • Store Refurbishments and Repairs:
    • Manage and oversee store refurbishment and repair projects.
    • Obtain quotes from vendors and negotiate contracts.
    • Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget.
    • Ensure the quality of workmanship and adherence to brand standards.
  • Store Maintenance:
    • Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all stores.
    • Respond to maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of issues.
    • Manage vendor relationships for maintenance services.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Manage the inventory of store fixtures, equipment, and other assets.
    • Ensure the availability of necessary materials for store operations.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare regular reports on project progress, budget status, and any other relevant information.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all store-related activities.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
    • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements.

About You

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the retail or construction industry.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in using project management software (e.g., MS Project) and other relevant tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
