Role
The Day-To-Day Activities
1. Network Design Strategies – Coverage and Capacity
• Design high-level network blueprints and target architectures for UM networks, aligning with the company’s digital and service strategy.
• Ensure network designs support future technology adoption (e.g., Open RAN, SDN/NFV, AI-driven optimization).
• Align network architecture with regulatory requirements, sustainability and cybersecurity standards.
• Evaluate vendor proposals and new technologies for their fit into the long-term design; support trials and proof-of-concepts.
• Define high-level solutions by leveraging cutting-edge propagation models, tools, and industry best practices to optimize network performance.
• Lead cross-functional planning discussions with engineering, operations, finance, and IT teams to ensure network strategy is executable and integrated.
2. Industry Engagement and Regulatory Compliance
• Represent the organization in high-level industry forums and regulatory meetings (e.g., MCMC) to influence and align coverage and capacity strategies with national requirements.
• Spearhead collaborations with industry partners for network-sharing solutions, optimizing resource use while meeting regulatory and customer expectations.
3. Leadership and Mentorship
• Provide clear strategic direction and communicate the long-term network vision to planning teams, aligning technical activities with business goals.
• Serve as a technical and professional mentor to network planners, engineers, and analysts, helping them build expertise in capacity modeling, architecture design, and strategic forecasting.
• Inspire teams to innovate, experiment, and stay ahead of industry trends through continuous improvement and transformation efforts.
• Identify skill gaps and implement training plans, workshops, and upskilling programs to future-proof the team’s capabilities.
4. Innovation and Process Enhancement
• Champion the adoption of automation, AI-driven tools, and advanced scripting to streamline planning processes and improve efficiency.
• Leverage on traffic trends, customer usage patterns, and service-level metrics to inform long-term decisions and adaptive planning strategies
• Stay ahead of industry trends (e.g., 6G, IoT integration) to ensure the network remains competitive and scalable.
