Assistant Manager, Industrial Relations and HR Operations

Role

Duties & Responsibilities
Primary role is to in charge of Industrial Relation (IR) & Employee Relation (ER) of the company to maintain a harmonious IR climate. In addition, to assists in carrying out the daily activities of the Human Resource Operations and delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of employees and enable business success; as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and operating procedures.

Industrial Relations
• Responsible for all IR matters including handling all matters related to disciplinary issues, staff grievances, staff misconduct, labour disputes between employee and company.
• Conduct investigation and domestic inquiry as prosecutor or recording officer.
• Draft and issue disciplinary notices, verbal or non-verbal warning letters and proceed with necessary disciplinary action to resolve the matter.
• Collate and compile evidence as well as documents for disciplinary action, Industrial Court and Labour Court cases.
• Establish good relationships with relevant industry players, consult legal practitioners and related government agencies under the Human Resource Ministry and provide advice accordingly.
• Advise and guide Management on best practices for employer and employee relations including all relevant employment laws.
• To assist in Implement and evaluate existing disciplinary policies and procedures.
• To assist in establish IR policy and procedures for industrial relations throughout the Company.
• To keep abreast on latest judicial precedents on employment and IR matters.
• To familiarize oneself with Industrial Relations Act 1967, Employment Act 1955, and any other HR related legislations

HR Operations
• Be responsible for executing on all HR transactions and administration, supporting the HR team, across all HR service categories including HRMS data maintenance, scorecards, reporting and more.
• This role requires emphasis on data integrity and analysis to support key HR decisions. As a member of the HR Operations team will provide coverage and support as needed and receive guidance and escalation support from the HR Operations leadership team.

Data Analytics and Reporting
• Conduct continuous review of reports and identify opportunities for improvements with the aim of minimizing redundant reporting and development of single source of truth where possible
• Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize data utilizing Power BI or any other applications
• Automate data preparation and report creation where possible
• Development of ad-hoc reports as necessary
• Provide increased focus on analytics and emphasize on providing valuable insights to drive improvement opportunities
• Perform analysis and develops recommendations for continuous improvement opportunities
• Ability to handle various data sources, to develop reporting capabilities and valuable insights across these data sources.

Job Requirements
1. Education/ What people Know:
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in HR or Law.

2. Experience/ What people Have Done:
• At least 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position

3. Competencies/ What people Can Do:
• Excellent language proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken)
• High interpersonal skills and adept communication skills to deal effectively with people from all walks of life.
• High degree of flexibility and adaptability. Must be able to work under pressure and handle conflict in a rational manner.
• Analytical ability to identify issues and problems in order to implement appropriate courses of action in a timely manner.
• Discipline in meeting deadlines.
• Must be organised and meticulous in handling every single matters
