The Day-To-Day Activities

• Strategic Business Partnership
• Act as a Strategic Catalyst: Partner with cross-functional leadership to provide high-level financial guidance, ensuring Capex and Opex investments are rigorously aligned with long-term corporate objectives.
• Executive Advisory: Serve as the financial advisor for complex investment proposals; perform sophisticated NPV, IRR, and Payback analysis to validate the commercial feasibility of ad-hoc projects and industry-wide initiatives.
• Stakeholder Influence: Cultivate a culture of fiscal stewardship and accountability across divisions, mentoring non-finance stakeholders on financial implications and value-based decision-making.

• Financial Governance & Budgetary Oversight
• Performance Management: Orchestrate the budget execution process, ensuring rigorous adherence to financial plans while driving accountability for P&L targets.
• Variance Intelligence: Lead deep-dive analysis into budget utilization; translate data into actionable insights to mitigate fiscal risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
• Framework Architecture: Design, implement, and refine robust budgetary control frameworks and policies to standardize fiscal discipline across the organization.
• Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Enforce uncompromising standards of internal control and governance, ensuring all financial procedures meet both internal audit requirements and external standards.
• Efficiency Architect: Analyze cost drivers and overhead structures; implement cost-rationalization strategies and lean methodologies to eliminate waste and boost margins through investment cases.

• System Innovation & Finance Transformation
• Process Excellence: Spearhead the continuous improvement of budgeting and reporting ecosystems, reducing cycle times and increasing the accuracy of financial outputs.
• Digitalization & Automation: Drive the transition toward data-driven decision-making by enhancing data integrity and leveraging automation tools (e.g., ERP enhancements, BI dashboards) for real-time reporting.
• Transformation Initiatives: Collaborate with Finance Transformation team to integrate digital initiatives that future-proof the finance budget function.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA) or experience in Telecommunication industry is a plus
• 8-10 years of experience in budgeting, FP&A, or finance business partnering
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial planning tools
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; Power BI or similar tools is an advantage
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, specifically as they relate to the telecommunications sector in Malaysia
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across different teams and levels of the organization within the organization
• A fast learner, independent and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
