The Day-To-Day Activities
Technical Senior Manager
Team Leadership and Development
• Lead, mentor, and manage the IT operations and support team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training and development needs
• Recruit and onboard new team members, ensuring they are well-integrated and up to speed
Operational Oversight
• Oversee the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure and applications to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor system performance, network health, and application functionality
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of IT services
Incident and Problem Management
• Manage and resolve IT incidents and problems promptly to minimize downtime and impact on business operations
• Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement long-term solutions
• Maintain and improve incident response and escalation procedures
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of IT operations
• Generate regular performance reports for senior management
• Use data analytics to identify trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement
Security and Compliance
• Ensure IT operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect IT assets and data
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
Maintenance and Updates
• Oversee routine maintenance tasks, such as applying updates, patches, and backups
• Ensure all IT systems and applications are up-to-date and functioning correctly
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for maintenance activities
Budget and Resource Management
• Assist in managing the IT operations budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources
• Monitor expenditures and optimize resource utilization
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality
Project Management
• Manage IT projects from planning to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
• Coordinate with other departments and teams to ensure successful project outcomes
• Provide regular updates on project progress to stakeholders
Process Improvement and Innovation
• Continuously evaluate and improve IT operational processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
• Implement best practices and new technologies to optimize IT operations
• Drive innovation within the team to stay ahead of industry trends and advancements
Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with other IT team members and departments to ensure coordinated efforts
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on IT improvements
Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
• Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans
• Ensure the company can quickly respond to and recover from IT disruptions
• Regularly test and update these plans to ensure their effectiveness
