Assistant Manager - Commercial Strategy and Intelligence (Product Analyst)

Job Summary

  • This role will be responsible for developing a strong understanding of U Mobile’s Postpaid business performance across all the products and services
  • This role is also instrumental in developing forecasts for Postpaid business, using statistical and analytical techniques to understand the key drivers towards Postpaid’s annual target.
  • This role also required to act as key data support and business partner for the marketing division to ensure timely decisions.
  • The role’s challenge lies primarily in the breadth of its accountabilities, requiring significant commercial agility, a nose for inconsistencies, the ability to go beyond the analysis of data to arrive at true business insight, and the presence to support the Postpaid Team Lead and Senior Manager in robust commercial decision-making.

Job Responsibilities

Performance Reporting Analysis
  • Perform the analysis of business performance and develop relevant reporting structures.
  • Build and optimize the KPI dashboard on Power Bi.
  • Synthesize performance trends and business performance.
  • Work closely with the Postpaid Team Lead and Senior Manager in identifying key business performance trends as well as highlight opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Communicate the business performance to the management and other stakeholders
Analytical Support
  • Drive strategic analysis and provide recommendations for ad hoc requests, both from within the team and externally.
  • Evaluate the company products and compare them against industry trends.
  • Support in financial assessment (FA) for the new product launch including performing market research, consumer behavior and competitive analysis.
Forecasting and Planning
  • Develop business forecast based on business insights to identify business gaps on monthly basis.
  • Work with product teams to ensure that the right KPIs and targets have been set.
Business Partner
  • To act as a business partner with the Postpaid product team in supporting the campaign simulation, financial assessment (FA) as well as post-implementation review and analysis (PIR).

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 - 6 years of working experience in a similar role.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • A good team player and self-starter with excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt rapidly to shifting priorities and dynamic environments. \
  • Work closely with the management and provide leadership and direction to the team in delivering results.
  • Have a high threshold for ambiguity and maintain a professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with dashboard development and data reporting, managing, and maintaining business intelligence tools such as Power Bi and Tableau.
  • Knowledge in the telecommunication industry will be an added advantage.
