Job Summary
To manage overall compliance function within the company including conducting a compliance risk assessment to ensure compliance risks are properly assessed, gaps are identified and the requirements of the new laws/regulations are implemented.

Job Descriptions

  • Assist in providing overall supervision on compliance matters in the Company
  • Prepare Compliance Checklist for existing/new/updated statutory and regulatory instruments, conduct consultation with Business Units, conduct gap analysis, monitoring of the action plans/corrective actions proposed to close the gaps and preparation of relevant reports on the impact of the new regulatory instruments.
  • Compliance verification – carrying out random compliance verification of the implementation of the controls by the Business Units and the effectiveness of the controls
  • Continuous compliance monitoring of action plan/corrective actions proposed for non-compliance issues
  • Provide compliance advisory to the Company on any regulatory compliance issues including
  • PDPA, AML and anti-corruption.
  • Cultivate compliance culture in the Company including communication, planning, preparation of training materials and conducting PDPA, Anti-Corruption and AML training for all employees
  • Assist to prepare periodic reports to the Management/ Audit Committee on compliance and money laundering matters
  • Collate, analyse and submit reports to BNM on any suspicious transactions reported by the relevant Business Units.
  • Prepare the schedule of statutory submissions to BNM as required under the relevant BNM's Policy Documents, sending reminders and monitor the submissions to BNM by the respective Business Units are done in accordance with the deadline.
  • Administer BNM’s portal and systems including KijangNET and FINS.
  • Disseminate all applicable laws, regulatory instruments, notification and information from the Regulators to the relevant departments and maintained a centralized repository for all the regulatory instruments.
  • Analyse the laws and regulatory instruments and to identify, propose, implement and maintain appropriate, practical and implementable compliance programs, policies and initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree/ Post Graduate or Professional Degree
  • Major in Law, Finance, Accounting, Quantitative or equivalent
  • At least 5 years working experience in a compliance role in a financial institution/payment systems’ regulated entities
