Role


The Day-To-Day Activities
1. Data Analytics:
• Keep abreast of macro-environment indicators such as industry trends and competitive landscape, customer behaviour patterns, and use these insights as references for financial planning specific to projects.
• Stay close to business and functional stakeholders and understand revenue and cost drivers and other indicators to identify risks and opportunities to the projects.
• Perform analyses and make necessary adjustments to financial information in the context of their impact on assessment of the financial viability of the projects.
• Ensure flexibility and robustness of financial model in catering to scenarios analysis.

2. Financial Modelling:
• Develop financial models and scenario analysis to evaluate projects business opportunities, risks, investment decisions and initiatives related to projects.
• Analyse financial and non-financial data from business and functional stakeholders to support financial modelling activities.
• Translate revenue and/or cost driver information from business and functional stakeholders into data inputs in financial model for use in projecting financial information in alignment with strategic project objectives.
• Challenge and/or engage with stakeholders in evolving financial models and scenarios analysis for the purpose of optimising the actionable recommendations in line with strategic project objectives.

3. Project Performance Analysis:
• Analyze key performance indicators and operational metrics to assess project performance and identify areas for improvement and re-alignment.
• Develop dashboards and reports to track performance trends, monitor market dynamics and evaluate the effective of project initiatives, where needed.
• Challenge and/or engage with stakeholders in the course of identifying performance gaps between project plan and actual performance, and develop mitigating actions accordingly.

4. Leading, Influencing, Stakeholder Management and Collaboration:
• Collaborate with stakeholders from various departments to align project financial planning efforts with organizational goals and priorities, including facilitating cross-functional discussions to drive consensus and alignment of strategic objectives.
• Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders.

5. Reporting & Presentation:
• Prepare and deliver insightful reports and presentations to senior management.
• Translate financial data into actionable recommendations.

About You
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Has about 8-10 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis, preferably in a similar role within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of the telecommunications industry in Malaysia, including knowledge of industry-specific regulations, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
• Proficient in financial modelling, forecasting, and data analysis using spreadsheet software and ERP financial systems.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards, specifically as they relate to the telecommunications sector in Malaysia.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Independent, and has ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across different teams and levels of the organization, and work with minimum supervision in accordance with tight deadlines.
• Have a keen sense of analytical skills, strong appreciation for numbers with good business understanding.
• Has strong stakeholder management, is organized, proactive, and results oriented with ‘can do’ attitude.
